Our Journey
We are a company of brand builders and storytellers. For 25 years we have led brands on journeys to tell their stories and solve their complex strategic challenges. We’ve always looked to do that through close collaboration, intellectual rigour and world-class creativity. Voice has been our name since we began. To reflect our foundation and pride in being Maori-owned, we’d like to share our ingoa Māori, Tūāpapa.
If you are a brand, think of Tūāpapa as your foundation – your platform, your basis. Great brands start with this, because understanding your foundation (your reason for being) underpins your whole identity. It informs how you show up to your customers and how you choose to express what you stand for, internally and in-market
First listen to understand, then speak
At Voice/ Tūāpapa, we help public and private sector organisations better understand, integrate and apply a Te Ao Māori perspective and uphold our collective responsibility to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Your voice then brings your truths to life. It gives you clarity and confidence. It ensures you have what it takes to be heard above the surrounding noise. It decides how you stand up and speak to customers, stakeholders and of course your own people.
For 25 years Voice has been leading brand explorations to shape brand purpose, creating brand experiences that translate directly into business results.
What we value
At Voice we are guided by a set of values that inform how we do what we do and how we treat each other – this is who we are. Our approach is grounded in a Te Ao Māori perspective – working this way enriches our team our work and our clients.
We create clarity / He pou pūahoaho
We think clearly and strategically. We cut through complexity to clarity and provide balanced opinion and leadership. A Pou (a marker) to guide the way for our clients.
We act with conviction / He pou whakapono
We get it right. We understand context and we create opinion pathways and point of views formed through our thinking and experience to solve problems gracefully.
We are honest & real / Kia tika kia pono te kōrero
We are truthful, upfront and open-minded and like to work with people who are the same. Open, honest communication is key, as is going with our ‘gut feel’. Fit is important too – and if we don’t, that’s OK. We are the same people at work as we are at home.
We are big-hearted / Kia ngākau mahaki
We are kind, thoughtful, inclusive and welcoming. Whanau (family) is important to us. We respect and appreciate others for who they are. Diversity makes us all stronger.
We think consciously / He pou manaaki
We do our bit to tread lightly on our land and leave things better than when we found them. We are good business citizens and kaitiaki (guardians) of our environment and the planet. Everything has mauri (life force) and therefore requires respect.
